10 km. away from Dezful towards Shushtar, there is a mausoleum, attributed to Yaghoub Leis, one of the first Iranian kings after the Arab conquest. He revived the Persian language about 200 years after emerging of Islam in Iran and tried to overthrow Abbasid Caliphate, but died in Gondishapur, a major town near today’s Dezful. Remains of Gondishapur, a famous ancient academic center, can be seen near this mausoleum.
