There have been many ancient watermills built along rivers and streams across Khuzestan. One of the best-preserved samples can be seen near the Sassanid bridge. They have been build during the Sassanid era (223-651AD.) and have been operation until a few decades ago. They are now part of a complex called the Water Museum.
