Shoukatieh School
Shoukatieh School is one of the historical buildings of Birjand, and the fourth modern school in Iran, after Tehran’s Darolfonoon, Tabriz’s Roshdieh and Kermanshah’s Mohtashamieh. The building was originally built as a Husseinieh (religious building) in 1890 by Ismael Khan Alam (The 1st Shoukat-ol-molk), but later, in 1903, it was converted to the first modern school in eastern Iran by Mohammad Ibrahim Khan Alam (The 2nd Shoukat-ol-molk).
