With a long history, dating back to Median era, Hamadan province hosts a variety of ethnicities. Turkish and Persians in the north part of the province, Lors and Laks in the south and Kords in the west.
Geography
Hamadan Province covers a mountainous region. Kordestan, Kermanshah, Zanjan, Lorestan and Markazi are the neighbours of this province. Gamasiab river, on the longest rivers in Iran passes through this province. Mount Alvand, one of the most famous mountains of Iran lies in Hamadan province.
Climate
Cold and snowy winters and temperate summers are the main features of this province’s climate. There is a large temperature difference between its winters and summers. The proximity of plains with high mountains generates strong winds in this region. Best time to visit is Spring and summer.
