A province in south-west of Iran, rich for oil and gas resources, with a long history and diverse nature.
History
The history of Khuzestan goes back to 2700BC and Elamite civilization. There are many important Elamite and Achaemenid remains in this province showing its rich history.
Geography
Khuzestan has a border with Iraq on its west and is surrounded by the provinces of Ilam, Lorestan, Charmahal, Kohgiluyeh and Bushehr.
It has some snowy mountains to its north and low lands in its south. It has good water and hydro-power resources as well. The most important rivers of Iran are in this province.
