Literally, The Central Province, Markazi Province is located in the centre of Iran.
History
Known as the Great Medes, State of Mountains and Ajam Iraq have been names for this region of Iran through history. It’s currently an industrial area but has a long history.
Geography
Markazi Province is located in central Iran and is surrounded by Tehran, Alborz, Qazvin, Hamadan, Lorestan, Qom, and Isfahan provinces.
It lies between two mountain ranges of Zagros and Alborz and benefits from interesting biodiversity.
Climate
Proximity to mountains and deserts has caused a diverse and variable climate in this region. Semi-arid climate in cities like Saveh and temperate mountain weather in cities like Arak and cold mountain weather in areas like Shazand.
Spring and summer are good times for visiting this province.
